चीनको गुइजहाउ प्रान्तमा रहेको सानो गाउँको जीवनस्तरलाई सुधार्नका लागि ह्वाङ दफाले १० किलोमिटर लामो पानीको नहर बनाउन तीनवटा पहाड फोडे जसका लागि उनलाई ३६ वर्ष लाग्यो । कोआवाङ्बा गाउँका प्रमुख ह्वाङ दाफाले सन् १९५९ देखि उक्त योजना सुरु गरेको र यसका लागि उनले आफ्नो जीवनको ३६ वर्ष कडा परिश्रममा लगाएर पूरा गाउँलेका लागि २४ औं पानीको सुविधा प्रदान गरे ।

Moroccan solar plant to bring energy to a million people
A giant plant using energy from the Sun to power a Moroccan city at night will open next month.
The solar thermal plant at Ouarzazate will harness the Sun's warmth to melt salt, which will hold its heat to power a steam turbine in the evening. The first phase will generate for three hours after dark; the last stage aims to supply power 20 hours a day. It is part of Morocco's pledge to get 42% of its electricity from renewables by 2020.

WB-financed projects miss spending target
Spending by projects funded by the World Bank (WB) has been poor with disbursement reaching 5.3 percent as of January-end compared to the target of 13.2 percent. According to the WB, disbursement amounted to Rs 38.06 million during the period against the projected Rs 94.6 billion. The annual disbursement target for this fiscal as of Jan-end is 26.2 percent, or $188 million out of the total allocation.

Cabinet approves Rs 32,600 crore power scheme
The Cabinet has approved the Rs 32,600 crore Integrated Power Development Scheme ( IPDS) that will strengthen the transmission and distribution networks and metering in urban areas and smarten it with information technology. It also approved a Rs 43,033 crore scheme, which includes the requirement of budgetary support of Rs 33,453 crore, for rural areas to separate agricultural supply from non-farm supply.
